Sovereign Battery Materials.
Made in Britain

Secure and circular supply of critical materials, powering the next generation of electric mobility, energy storage and defence

Securing the UK’s Critical Materials Future

Altilium is building the UK’s first sustainable critical materials platform, creating a sovereign domestic source of battery materials for Britain’s automotive, energy and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Combining first-of-a-kind industrial-scale infrastructure, patented materials processing technology and AI-powered digital intelligence, we recover, refine and return critical minerals to UK industry – delivering domestically sourced and sustainable battery materials that reduce reliance on imports, strengthen national resilience and dramatically lower carbon emissions.

From innovation to industrial scale

95% recovery of cathode metals

74% reduction in climate change impact

100% sovereign cathode and anode material

National infrastructure

As the UK scales domestic battery manufacturing and EV production, Altilium is building the industrial infrastructure needed to meet the growing demand for lithium, nickel, cobalt, graphite and other critical materials.

Our ACT2 pilot plant has successfully proven our proprietary recycling and refining technologies at scale, while ACT3, our first commercial demonstration facility, will become the UK’s first industrial-scale plant capable of recovering battery-grade lithium, nickel, graphite and other critical materials from end-of-life EV batteries. Together, these facilities provide the foundation for a sovereign UK battery materials industry.

Technology leadership

Altilium’s patented technologies transform end-of-life batteries and production scrap into high-value materials that can be returned directly to the battery supply chain, creating a truly circular production model.

Our proprietary EcoCathode and EcoAnode technologies are capable of recovering more than 95% of critical battery metals for production of cathode active materials (CAM) and anode active materials (AAM).  The technology has already been demonstrated at industrially representative scale, with successful production and qualification of the UK’s first battery cells using CAM recovered from end-of-life batteries.

Digital intelligence

MateriaAI provides the digital intelligence that underpins Altilium’s critical materials platform. Spanning the entire battery value chain, it combines AI, advanced data analytics and digital traceability to optimise battery sourcing, materials recovery, refining and supply chain management.

By connecting physical infrastructure with real-time intelligence, MateriaAI improves operational performance, enables end-to-end transparency and helps build a smarter, more resilient and more secure circular battery economy.
