Altilium’s Managing Director, David Cartwright, was honoured to join a high-level gathering of senior executives and policy makers to discuss the importance of UK-German critical minerals supply chain collaboration at a roundtable lunch at the British Embassy in Berlin, hosted by British Ambassador Andrew Mitchell.

The discussion highlighted the significant opportunities for deeper UK-German collaboration, as well as the challenges facing Europe’s critical minerals ecosystem. It was encouraging to hear such a strong commitment from both government and industry to working together to improve supply chain resilience, and we were pleased to share Altilium’s perspective on how the UK Government can help accelerate investment and innovation.

The UK and Germany share deep automotive and industrial connections, with highly integrated supply chains and a common ambition to build a more secure and competitive battery value chain – as demonstrated by the recent establishment of the UK-Germany Critical Minerals Policy Exchange.

The event also provided an opportunity to showcase the UK’s leadership in circular battery materials and to meet with senior leaders from across Germany’s critical minerals supply chain, including our partners at HELM AG.

Thank you to the British Embassy Berlin and everyone involved for facilitating such a valuable discussion. We look forward to continuing to work with partners across the UK and Germany to strengthen Europe’s critical minerals supply chains.
