Altilium is proud to have been nominated for the 2027 Earthshot Prize by Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), joining an inspiring group of organisations working on solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Altilium has been nominated for the Build a Waste-Free World Earthshot, recognising our pioneering work to create a circular economy for critical battery materials.

Founded by HRH Prince William, The Earthshot Prize is a global environmental award that seeks to identify, celebrate and scale innovative solutions that help repair and regenerate our planet by 2030.

The nomination is an important recognition of Altilium’s technological achievements and the hard work, innovation and dedication of everyone across the company.

At Altilium, we’re tackling one of the biggest sustainability challenges of the energy transition, developing clean technologies to recover and reuse the valuable critical minerals contained in end-of-life EV batteries.

The company’s patented EcoCathode process can recover over 95% of critical cathode metals, including lithium, nickel and cobalt, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 74% compared with conventional mining and refining. By recovering and reusing these valuable materials, Altilium aims to reduce dependence on primary mining, minimise battery waste and establish a more sustainable and resilient supply chain for the global energy transition.
