Altilium has been awarded funding from the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) and Innovate UK to demonstrate sustainable production of EV battery cells with recycled anode and cathode materials
Leveraging proprietary recycling technologies EcoAnode™ and EcoCathode™ and recent technology showcase of automotive-grade multilayer pouch cells, this project will demonstrate both the commercial potential and environmental benefits of integrating recycled materials into next-generation EVs.
Aligned with the UK’s ambitions for resource efficiency and net-zero transport, this work will:
- Enable efficient integration of recycled materials into next-generation EV battery manufacturing
- Provide robust evidence of the carbon reduction potential of circular battery materials in the UK automotive value chain
- Support the UK’s Critical Minerals Strategy and Net Zero goals by reducing reliance on imported raw materials
As the only UK producer of domestic, low-carbon, battery-ready cathode active material (CAM) recovered from end-of-life EV batteries, Altilium is helping to build a resilient and sustainable UK battery supply chain.
