Leading global bank Mizuho Bank has made a US$ 2.5 million investment in Altilium under its Series B raise.
The announcement follows the recent strategic investment in Altilium by leading Japanese trading and investment group Marubeni Corporation.
Together with Marubeni, Mizuho is supporting the scale-up of Altilium’s EV battery recycling operations in the UK and its mission to build a sustainable circular economy for battery materials, reducing dependency on international supply chains and saving natural resources.
The investment was made through Mizuho Bank’s Transition Equity Investment Facility, which commits equity investments towards seed or early-stage projects to support clients in funding their sustainability initiatives.
Mizuho is a leading global bank, with one of the largest customer bases in Japan, and a global network of financial and business centres.
