It was a busy day of connection, reflection and celebration at Altilium’s annual company away day in Plymouth this week.

Staff gathered at the award-winning Box museum and art gallery to look back on the company’s many achievements from 2024 and hear the co-founders set out their strategy and priorities for the next phase of Altilium’s scale-up journey in 2025.

It’s been an incredible 12 months of growth, hard work and technological breakthroughs for Altilium and we couldn’t be prouder of everything we’ve achieved together, as we continue to build a UK champion for EV battery recycling.

Highlights from the past 12 months include:

  • Commissioning of ACT2 – the first large scale hydrometallurgical recycling facility for EV batteries in the UK.

  • $12m strategic investment by SQM Lithium Ventures.

  • 135% increase in headcount, with 30 new employees in 2024.

  • Confirmation of recycled NMC 811 CAM matching performance of commercially available CAM.

  • Over £500k social value delivered to Plymouth and surrounding areas.

  • Significant grant funding secured for innovative new R&D projects, including APC23 with Nissan and ARMD3 with JLR.

Thanks to all the teams for their dedication, innovation, and energy – and congratulations to all the winners of the first Altilium’s Awards!

Here’s to pushing boundaries, making a difference and achieving even more in the year ahead!
