Altilium’s COO, Dr Christian Marston, spoke to Argus Media’s Thomas Kavanagh about our plans for the UK’s first closed loop EV battery recycling operation, as well as current trends in battery material prices and the importance of building a domestic supply chain for low carbon CAM.

Altilium foresees a significant shift towards recycled materials in the battery supply chain next decade, with up to 50% of lithium, nickel and cobalt coming from recycling in the UK, reducing mining and saving our natural resources.

Our planned recycling plant in Teesside (ACT 4) will have capacity to process battery waste from 150,000 EVs a year and produce 30,000 MT of battery ready CAM, making it one of the largest facilities in Europe.
