We are pleased to announce we will receive funding from Innovate UK, the United Kingdom’s innovation agency for an 18-month program driving forward the efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint of our proprietary recycling process, focused on:

  • Utilising novel ultrasonic leaching methods to accelerate leaching, while reducing operational costs
  • Pioneering environmental-friendliness, using natural bacteria called bioleaching, reducing the use of sulfuric acid.
  • Processing of recovered anode graphite material to a product ready for battery supply-chain re-entry
  • A comprehensive carbon lifecycle analysis, comparing our innovative recycling process to mining and refining of virgin raw materials.

The work will be performed at our newly opened EV Battery Recycling Technology Centre, where we are using material science to offer the most advanced lithium-ion battery recycling processes to support the green energy transition.
