PT Mandala Erakovic is a 1000 ha mine in the Manumean region of East Nussa Tenggar, Indonesia and is owned and operated by Altilium Metals. The assay recorded in this latest shipment of 51% is reflective of a high-grade ore deposit and amongst the highest grade globally. The standard grade of Manganese in the seaborne market is 37% per cent.

This high-grade of Manganese ore is particularly suitable for Lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt-oxide batteries, also known as NMC batteries and other types of manganese battery and demands a price premium compared to standard grades. The higher the purity of manganese in the battery, the lower the quality of the nickel and cobalt that needs to be used, helping to reduce the reliance on these metals as well as driving down raw material costs.
